The 1987 Porsche 911 Carrera 3.2 (G50) is an iconic sports car that has captured the hearts of driving enthusiasts for decades. This model was introduced in the mid-1980s as an update to the previous year's model, and it quickly became one of the most popular Porsche 911s of all time. The car is known for its classic styling, impressive performance, and unparalleled driving experience.

One of the key features of the 1987 Porsche 911 Carrera 3.2 (G50) is its updated transmission system. The car was fitted with a new G50 gearbox that had a revised synchromesh system, making it easier to shift gears and providing a smoother driving experience. This was a significant improvement over the previous year's model, which had a less refined transmission system.

The engine in the 1987 Porsche 911 Carrera 3.2 (G50) is a 3.2-liter flat-six that produced 231 horsepower and 284 Nm of torque. This engine is mated to a five-speed manual transmission, and the car was capable of accelerating from 0 to 100 kmh in just 6 seconds. The top speed of the car is 245 kmh, which was impressive for a car of its time.

The 911 Carrera 3.2 (G50) also features upgraded suspension and braking systems that improved the car's handling and performance. The car is fitted with stiffer springs and shock absorbers, as well as larger diameter anti-roll bars, which makes it more responsive and agile on the road. The brakes are also upgraded with larger rotors and four-piston calipers, providing better stopping power and reducing brake fade during aggressive driving.

The interior of the 1987 Porsche 911 Carrera 3.2 (G50) is also updated, with new seats and an improved dashboard layout. The seats are designed to provide better support and comfort during long drives, and the dashboard was redesigned to make the car's controls more accessible and easier to use. The car also has power windows, power door locks, and a sunroof as standard features.

Overall, the 1987 Porsche 911 Carrera 3.2 (G50) is a classic sports car that has stood the test of time. Its timeless styling, impressive performance, and unparalleled driving experience make it a highly sought-after model among collectors and driving enthusiasts. The car's updated transmission system, upgraded suspension and braking systems, and improved interior make it a joy to drive, whether on the track or the open road.

Built to a simpler, lighter specification, German market (or ‘C00’) cars have long been revered by marque purists. Finished in Marine Blue Metallic with Blue leather / cloth upholstery, chassis 2816 was supplied new by Autohaus Stegelmann GmbH & Co of Bad Salzuflen to an internationally successful ladies’ clothing company. Built with the desirable G50 gearbox but few extras aside from a passenger side mirror and sunroof, the Carrera 3.2 was serviced eleven times by main dealers and specialists up until 3rd April 2000 at 143.100 km. Imported to the UK the following year by a doctor who ran it for a while on German plates, the Porsche was registered with the DVLA during December 2002 and entered the current ownership four months later. Initially entrusted to JZ Machtech of Kings Langley, the Coupe has been maintained by fellow marque specialist Auto 2000 since 2013. Installing a full Dansk stainless steel exhaust system and new drive shaft boots that same year at 225.828 km, the Kempston-based firm last serviced chassis 2816 on 11th January 2021 at 236.399 km. Now showing some 238.000 km to its odometer, the Carrera 3.2 started readily and ran well during our recent photography session. There are some imperfections to the paintwork and a small area of bubbling to the driver’s side front wing, but the car looks solid underneath, and the interior has worn well. Overall, it comes across as a genuine and highly original machine (the factory airbox and steering wheel are included). Enjoyed for several trips to the Le Mans 24-hours and riding on fresh Avon rubber all-round. Offered for sale with V5C Registration Document, original book pack and numerous bills / receipts.
